An Adventure? In My Life? No Way!

Every person dreams on going on an adventure. I have never been exempt from that group of people. I always wanted to go on an amazing adventure, meet the man of my dreams, get married, have kids, and live happily ever after.

I always figured that an adventure would be impossible for me. I live in Idaho! There is no adventure in the bare expanses of this boring place!

I thought that up until about three months ago.

I bought these babies right after Christmas in a giddy After-Christmas sale. I instantly fell in love.

My sister, Rachel, affectionately nick-named them my "Robin Hood Boots", and the name has stuck.

I felt like it would be possible to be in an adventure if I was wearing my adventure boots. Robin Hood had plenty of adventures in similar boots...so why not me?

One of my favorite types of books are adventurous....romance, adventure, conflict, a teeny tiny bit of fantasy to mix it up...you get the picture.

I always want to be the heroine of my own adventure, and reading is a way I could pretend that I am.

When I got these, I also got an awesome black, long coat.

My friend calls it my "ninja coat" she also calls my fun boots "ninja boots". Other friends of mine call it my "secret agent" coat.

After these fabulous nicknames were created...I really got pumped. I want to be in an adventure!

I realized, it is possible. Maybe not in the magnitude I think I want, but it can happen. I can have an adventure, even in the dusty, boring expanses of Idaho. I can change the world if I want, and have a lot of fun doing it.

My Blue Eyes?

So, for the very few of you who are wondering why the heck my blog is called "my blue eyes", I am going to make the questions as easy to understand as possible.

So, in case you don't know me... I have blue eyes, and I've been told that's the first people notice about me.

As well, I like old words. Well, since, that is a little redundant because all words are old, let me explain.

You know how words may have two meanings? Well, I like the words that have meanings that are out of fashion and timeless, yet have been lost to our generation.

One of my favorite old words is rather, as in "that is rather hot!" or "I rather dislike spinach".

One of my favorite "old" sayings is "The eyes are the windows to the soul".

I believe this in full. My eyes will betray what I am really thinking and feeling before my mouth ever will. If you ever want to truly know a person, learn to be able to read their eyes.

So for my blog name, I decided to use that. Even though, you can't see my eyes while I'm writing these blog posts, my soul can be the windows to what my eyes really look like.

Or, for those of you who have seen my eyes, this is a chance for you to see deeper into my soul, and to find out what really is behind my eyes. This is expanding the windows to my soul, and letting all of you see a part of my soul that you may not have already, and hoping you enjoy what you find there.

Even if you don't enjoy what you find in my writings, I will still enjoy writing them, because I'm honestly not a big fan of journals. So technically, this is a blog for nobody but myself (I'm sorry it seems selfish, but that's the way it is!), because I benefit more from this than most of my readers will...

Although, if you do, Fantastic!!

Hello, Everyone!

Hello blogging world!!

I didn't believe that this day would ever come, but look! Here it is!!

Anyways, so, to start off, I'm a little crazy. It's probably because I read, and write, and watch movies, and listen to music, and do several other things, too.

To start off, you need to know a little background about my favorite things.

First off, I love James Cameron's Avatar.

I didn't originally go see it in theaters, almost all the rest of my family did, but I refused. So, naturally  I missed the whole 3-D experience, but, ironically, we rented it, and I've been in love with it ever since. I love the beauty in the story and the courage and strength that shows in several of the characters' actions.

Also, I am an avid reader.

I started to read when I was 4 years old, and I never was the same after that.

My bookshelf has had to be upgraded from a shared, to a hand-me-down, to a full-size bookshelf that allows me to fit every book and more inside it...

I read from science-fiction to fantasy, to historical fiction, to classics, and everywhere in between, and I love almost every one I read.

Last, but not least, I believe that music can be applied to anything, anytime. So, naturally I have an iPod packed with songs I like, songs I like on some days, and songs I absolutely hate.

I have a passion for classical music and movie scores. However, I also like to listen to all sorts of other music, like some music you can dance to, and others you might think would be a good cry-along song.

So, anyway. This is me. I've got a blog, and if you want to hear more...well...you'll just have to follow me!
